Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the questions that patrons have been asking.  If you have additional questions, please contact us so we can give you an answer and get your question posted.

May I bring my kids?
We welcome young patrons who can handle themselves well in an adult setting.  Ticket prices are the same for adults and children.

What if I can only attend one of the concerts?   With a recent change in ticket policy you may purchase a single admission for any of our presentations at any time.

What if I want to come on the afternoon for one date, and the evening for the other date?  At this time our subscription ticket policy is designed around people who will choose to do the same time for both performance dates.  To get seating at opposite times you can purchase single admission tickets for each event.  You will not receive the series discount, but you will be able to choose the most convenient times for yourself.

What if we need to change times at the last moment for the second concert?  Please check with us.  We will attempt to honor your request.  We have been full at the afternoon sessions but have had seats available in the evening.  If you desire to move your tickets from afternoon to evening we are likely to be able to accommodate that request.  If seating is not available for a requested change, we have a limited number of seats we can offer in an area outside our standard "formal" seating arrangement.  These seats may compromise visibility somewhat, but will not affect the sound of the music.

What time should we arrive?  Doors open at 2:00 and 6:30 and guests are welcome anytime thereafter.  Once the doors open we will begin serving complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and we will continue serving until 3:15 or 7:45.  You may arrive anytime before the formal presentations which begin at 3:30 and 8:00 respectively.  Doors close at the start of the formal presentations.

Is the house handicapped accessible?  There is one step that all patrons will need to negotiate. Hosts will aid wheelchair patrons or anyone needing help with that step.  We do have space reserved for wheelchair seating; please notify us in advance if you will need access to that area.
Where do I park?  Parking will be available at the house.  We will have hosts at the entry to show you where to park your vehicle.  Carpooling is highly recommended.

What do I wear?  There is no specific dress code.  The performers will be in formal wear.   We offer this as one of the rare events for you to dress up and look your best.

Where do I sit? During the informal part of the presentation you may choose to go wherever you like in the house and sit, stand,
or chit-chat  wherever you wish.  Before the formal concert there will be a fifteen minute break where chairs are set in and around the performance area.  Patrons will be invited to choose a seat that fits their mood.  There are no poor seats for this event with the furthest patrons being less than twenty-five feet from the performance area.

What kind of hors d'oeuvres will you be serving?  You will find a wide range of tasty treats offered from various international cuisines.  Many patrons will be able to make a complete light meal from the food tables.

What kind of drinks will you be serving?  Coffee, tea, soft drinks, juice, and non-alcoholic punch will be available.
Can I hire Quartrio for my wedding?  Quartrio is more interested in performing great works for an interested audience than playing background music for weddings or parties.  If you need a string ensemble for an event you are planning contact our cellist Michael Wahlmann at: m_s_wahlmann@hotmail.com   Michael books events for string groups and will be happy to discuss your needs.

How much are tickets for the Salon Classics being scalped for?  Limited supply and high demand tend to drive ticket prices higher.
Why are you only doing two concerts?  Our intention is to do four concerts annually, one every three months or so.   We will be scheduling performances in two concert packages.    Keep track on our web page or get your name on our e-mail list so you can get e-mailed updates.

How do I get on your e-mail list?  If you are not on our list yet, simply send an e-mail to jhenry@quartrio.com and we will put you on our list and send you updates when we have them.

Where else can we hear you?
Quartrio will perform in the Clinton Chamber concert in January and at Arts at the Arb in Clinton in June.  Watch our website for other opportunities to catch us in concert.
What about weather cancellations?  We will post the information on our website, send out e-mails to people on our list, or try to call anyone we don't have an e-mail for if we need to cancel for any reason.  We will also contact the local stations to get that information out.  If you have a question as to whether the event is happening please feel free to call 563-289-3315.  If we have to cancel we will reschedule the event at a later date.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Tickets to Salon Classics would be a unique gift for the music lover.  In order to secure tickets as a surprise, we recommend that you purchase the tickets yourself and then give them as a gift.

What is your refund policy?  We are unable to offer refunds to ticket purchasers.  If you will be unable to use your tickets you are encouraged to give them to others, or to turn them back in to Quartrio so they can be resold to people on our waiting list.
